This season is full. Full of sad times, busy times and some great memories made. One thing I truly enjoy is to cook. It is in my blood. My Mawmaw is an amazing cook who then taught my mom who inspired me to cook. All three of us...well I should say four because my sister is amazing too....cook different in many ways but the same in others. It is just the joy of creating. For me I find so much joy in finding new tastes and beautiful dishes. I also find joy in old fashioned cookin. This one all started when we had moved to Indianapolis. It was the first time ever I didn't have a job. I was 7 months pregnant in a new town/state and didn't know anyone. As many of you know I rarely can sit still. I need to be productive.....and this came to mind. Why not create delicious jellies and jams.. Not only is it super cost effective. It is a fun gift to give and a great way to make healthier options for my kiddos. So...can away. Here is this summers first bunch...and I am sure there will be...

Wheewww! What a CHRISTmas we have had. I know many of you all know about our surpise gift of delivering Caleb almost 9 weeks early on Dec. 22. But I also know that there are many details we just have been too overwhelmed with this to share. So here goes. This journey has been amazing. Remember...I am the one writing this story and I have always had something greater than you know planned." No kidding! The minute that the doctor said I was dialated to 6 we looked at each other and a flood of crying came...and came...and came. And then thru the tears Aaron's first words were..."Do you like Caleb Anthony?" Yep, we had not fully decided on his name and this was our top pic for a while we just couldn't hammer it down. Absolutely is his name= "COURAGEOUS". When the time came for the last few hours of real hard contractions this time, i...

Day 5 There is no doubt in my mind that one of my favorite things to do in Haiti was ride a moto! Motorcycles are the main form of motorized transportation in our town. For the first 9 months in Haiti we didn't have a vehicle. It really made life interesting. We became used to the walks down the mountain when teams came to visit.  I think the most fun was wondering how many eggs would crack riding on the moto to our home....hmmm, let me show you what most of the road looks like to our home...some places are worse:) We have tons of absolutely crazy stories from traveling in Haiti. I hope I get to take you guys along some of those rides. INSANE and so Indiana Jones-ish....if that's a word? In the fun of not having a vehicle we would find ourselves pretty stranded, often. In most cases we would be ok. On one special day we had gotten our family ready for the adventure of walking to Lindsay's place. I believe we intended to try to find 2 motorcycles to split ou...
