Happy 2nd Birthday Malachi

So it was a great November 5th and 7th for Malachi! On the 5th was his actual birthday and he mostly enjoyed his "Cars" pj's ...and then when Aaron got the 7th off from work we celebrated all day for Malachi...just the four of us. We went to Castaway Cafe, which is Michigan's largest indoor play area for young kids and he loved it. And also got real brave and went up to the top all by himself. Then we opened his gifts and read the new books he got for almost an hour and then he enjoyed his yummy apple cinamon muffin. Yeh...why make a cake when all he needs is a muffin! He loved it! And of course Rachel slept right through it.


And here you an almost see the height of this jungle jim climbing area! It's huge and the parents can go in or sit on the couches or tables they have set up right there to watch the kids.

Our little alphabet kid! He can recognize the entire alphabet and 1-10 in numbers, so reading signs in the car is one of his favorite things to do.
And of course a race track for all 20 of his Tonka Wheel pals!!!

Wheewww! What a CHRISTmas we have had. I know many of you all know about our surpise gift of delivering Caleb almost 9 weeks early on Dec. 22. But I also know that there are many details we just have been too overwhelmed with this to share. So here goes. This journey has been amazing. It is as if the Lord just said "I want to show you more of me. More of why so many things and people are in your lives. Remember...I am the one writing this story and I have always had something greater than you know planned." No kidding! The minute that the doctor said I was dialated to 6 we looked at each other and a flood of crying came...and came...and came. J.A.M. you got to got to JAM!

This season is full. Full of sad times, busy times and some great memories made. One thing I truly enjoy is to cook. It is in my blood. My Mawmaw is an amazing cook who then taught my mom who inspired me to cook. All three of us...well I should say four because my sister is amazing too....cook different in many ways but the same in others. It is just the joy of creating. For me I find so much joy in finding new tastes and beautiful dishes. I also find joy in old fashioned cookin. This one all started when we had moved to Indianapolis. It was the first time ever I didn't have a job. I was 7 months pregnant in a new town/state and didn't know anyone. As many of you know I rarely can sit still. I need to be productive.....and this came to mind. Why not create delicious jellies and jams.. Not only is it super cost effective.
